We are extremely grateful to the Rowland Foundation for their support of Emmanuel Music’s Community Connections program.
Community CollaborationsEmmanuel Music works in partnership with staff and faculty at a variety of Boston-area schools and performing arts organizations to develop in-depth opportunities for music education. Each year our collaborative programs enable over 1000 young people to engage actively with professional musicians and with outstanding music. Master classes, recitals, workshops, collaborative performances and career exploration feature instrumental musicians and vocalists from the Emmanuel Music core ensemble who share a commitment to arts education and enthusiasm to share their knowledge. Partner organizations include the Boston Arts Academy, the Mary McLeod Bethune Institute, the Boston Children’s Chorus, the Perkins School for the Blind, and the Dever and Murphy Schools (Dorchester).
Numerous Boston-area schools, and organizations working with underserved populations, have access to subsidized tickets for Emmanuel Music concerts. Students and staff from the Boston Children’s Chorus, the Boston Arts Academy, other Boston Public Schools, as well as participants from Big Sisters of Greater Boston, Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay, and Year-Up benefit from this exceptional opportunity.
Over 150 artists perform each year with Emmanuel Music. The Community Connections Program features three of these talented performers each season for special career opportunities within the concert and cantata series and as part of our community collaborations. Fellows for the current season can be found here, and a listing of past fellows can be found here.
