Trained as an oboist, David Ashley White is director of the University of Houston Moores School of Music. O sacrum convivium fuses polyphony with glowing, lush harmonies and a lyrical vocal line. The frequent changing meters are rendered imperceptible as they heighten the natural inflection of this Latin text written by St. Thomas Aquinas. White's music reveals a distinctly Anglican ring and spirit.
