Gail
Plummer Abbey has been singing in the soprano section
at Emmanuel for 15 years. She also sings in the Handel and
Haydn and Boston Baroque choruses. Gail graduated from Westminster
Choir College, where she met her husband Darryl. They currently
live in Holliston with their two children, Alex and Margaret. |

Anderson, soprano, has been singing with Emmanuel Music
since 1987. |

American
soprano Kendra Colton is a versatile singer
and highly praised artist who appears regularly in solo recital,
with symphony orchestras, and often at major music festivals.
She has developed a niche for herself in the oratorios and
sacred works of Bach, Brahms, Haydn, Handel, Mendelssohn,
Mozart and Schubert as well as the operas of Handel and Mozart.
She is also recognized for her skill as an interpreter of
contemporary music and has
given several premieres. |

Pamela
Dellal, mezzo-soprano, has been alto soloist with
Emmanuel Music since 1984, having performed over 150 Bach
cantatas. She has appeared with the Tokyo Oratorio Society,
the Lydian String Quartet, the Handel and Haydn Society, the
Dallas Bach Society, and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra,
among other organizations, and has long-term associations
with Sequentia, the Musicians of the Old Post Road and Ensemble
Chaconne, as well as being a founding member of Favella Lyrica.
She has been featured by opera companies such as The Opera
Company of Boston/Opera New England, Opera Aperta, Ocean State
Lyric Opera and Prism Opera and is a frequent guest of Boston's
many fine choral ensembles.

Aaron
Engebreth maintains an active solo career in opera,
oratorio and recital, and has devoted considerable energy
and time to the performance of new music, often collaborating
with composers. He has received significant recognition for
his interpretation of early music, most recently as a national
finalist and place-winner in the 2002 American Bach Society/Bethlehem
Bach Competition. His 2002-03 engagements include performances
with the Tanglewood Music Festival, Opera Aperta, Boston Cecilia,
Santa Fe Pro Musica, the Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra
and the American Bach Soloists. Mr. Engebreth is on the music
faculty of Tufts University and is a founding member of the
Florestan Recital Project and the Red House Opera Group. |

Chad
Freeburg, tenor, began singing at Emmanuel Church
in September of 2002. When not singing at Emmanuel, he keeps
busy with an active opera and concert schedule. Chad lives
in Medford with his fiancée, Courtney, who attends
Tufts University.

Paul
Guttry, bass-baritone, has sung at Emmanuel since
1995. He enjoys the variety of opera, oratorio, and a specialization
in early music. He has concertized throughout the U.S. and
internationally with Sequentia, the Boston Camerata, Chanticleer,
and the Ensemble for Early Music. In Boston, he has appeared
as soloist with Händel & Haydn, Boston Early Music
Festival, Cantata Singers, Boston Cecilia, Cambridge Bach
Ensemble, Prism Opera, and Collage. He is a member of Blue
Heron, a new Renaissance choir. Paul can be heard on recordings
of medieval music by Sequentia, Kurt Weill’s Johnny
Johnson and French airs de cour with the Boston Camerata,
and on recordings of Bach by Emmanuel Music. |

Margaret
Johnson, soprano
A
member of the chorus since 1978, Margaret also sings in a
soprano trio with Emmanuelettes Gail Abbey and Susan Trout
which made its debut this fall. She and her husband, Peter,
regularly towed their two sons to Emmanuel; Nathaniel and
Timothy, now 22 and 19, grew up thinking every church has
a Bach cantata on Sundays. Margaret is a licensed psychologist
and a professor at Bridgewater State College, and is active
in the Hanover Trust.

Baritone
David Kravitz has received wide critical
acclaim for his singing, his acting, and his careful attention
to text. In addition to his recent Carnegie Hall debut in
Handel's Messiah, David has performed in concert under conductors
Seiji Ozawa, Roger Norrington, Craig Smith, David Hoose, and
Martin Pearlman, and has appeared with Boston Lyric Opera,
Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Lake George Opera Festival, and
Opera Aperta. He has presented world or regional premieres
of numerous contemporary works. He has also had a distingished
career in the law, having served as a law clerk to Supreme
Court Justices Stephen Breyer and Sandra Day O'Connor. |

Mark
McSweeney, bass, has been associated with Emmanuel
Music since 1988. He resides with his wife, Jeanne, and their
three children, Ellen, Molly, and Daniel in Mansfield, Mass. |

Jaylyn
Olivo, soprano, can hardly remember a time when she
did not sing with some church choir or other. She has sung
with Emmanuel Music since 1984 and with Cantata Singers for
about as long. She has served on the Vestry of Emmanuel Church,
both as an elected member and as its clerk. She has been on
the board of Emmanuel Music for many years, serving as clerk
and now vice-president of the board. In her 9-5 life, she
is a medical editor and co-founder of the Brigham and Women's
Hospital Editorial Service, a free editing service for the
staff of the hospital. |

Gloria
Raymond, alto, has been singing with Emmanual Music
since 1985. She is also active in the Cantata Singers and
the Spectrum Singers choruses. Gloria is a full time budget
and procurement manager at MIT, and she lives in Boxborough
with John Ehrlich and their crazy cat Taz. |

Kamala
Soparkar, alto
Kamala
Soparkar has been singing regularly with Emmanuel Music since
1996. Ms. Soparkar has appeared as a soloist throughout New
England in oratorio, opera and recital. She was a semi finalist
in the 2001 NYC Concert Artist’s Guild competition.
Ms. Soparkar is featured on a recently released Arsis recording,
Sunshine and Shadow, songs of Shostakovich and Dvorak. She
currently resides with her family in Lexington.

Ryan
Turner, tenor, a soloist at Emmanuel Music since
1998, has performed to critical acclaim in oratorio, opera,
and recital throughout the U.S. and Europe. Recent seasons
have featured appearances with the Handel & Haydn Society,
Seattle Baroque, Boston Baroque, Opera Aperta, Kings Noyse,
Ensemble Abendmusik, Boston Camerata, Boston Cecilia, Coro
Allegro, Cambridge Bach Ensemble, Masterworks Chorale, and
the Handel Society of Dartmouth College. He is on the voice
faculty at Boston College and is music director of the Concord
Chorale. |

Jayne
West, soprano, has sung with Emmanuel Music since
1987. She has sung with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia
Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Orchestra of St. Luke's,
St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, as well as with the Mark
Morris Dance Group and numerous opera and choral organizations
throughout the US and Europe. She remains active with her
singing career while teaching Voice at Longy School of Music
and running her website design company, Webley West Designs.
Jayne is the webmaster for Emmanuel Music and several other
musical organizations. |
