Pat Krol is the former Director of Volunteer Services for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and joins Emmanuel Music as Executive Director in the 2006-2007 season. She succeeds Leonard Matczynski, who has served as both Executive Director and Artistic Administrator for the past 14 years and who will continue to occupy the latter position in close association with Artistic Director Craig Smith. Working with the BSO, Ms. Krol managed 1,500 volunteers who perform many valuable services at Symphony Hall and Tanglewood. She has been a passionate advocate for the essential importance of volunteerism in a flourishing arts organization.

Ms. Krol began her BSO career as Coordinator of Tanglewood's Days in the Arts program. Her next post, Coordinator of Youth Activities, involved overseeing all BSO Youth Education programs and outreach to such organizations as the Roxbury and Chelsea Community Partnerships. She continued her work with young people as Executive Director of Project STEP from 1992-98, educating and training promising musicians.
