Patricia Krol joined Emmanuel Music in September 2006. As Executive Director, she supports the artistic vision, direction, and mission of the organization, working with the board, artistic and administrative staff, and musicians. From 1998 – 2006, Ms. Krol was Director of Volunteer Services at the Boston Symphony Orchestra, managing more than 1,000 volunteers at Symphony Hall and Tanglewood in more than sixty ongoing projects and yearly events.
Ms. Krol began her BSO career as Coordinator of Tanglewood's Days in the Arts program, a summer arts program for middle school students from schools throughout Massachusetts. Her next position, Coordinator of Youth Activities, involved overseeing all BSO Youth Education programs and outreach to such organizations as the Roxbury and Chelsea Community Partnerships. She continued her work with young people as Executive Director of Project STEP from 1992-98, educating and training promising young musicians.
In addition to her work at the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Ms. Krol worked with The Cleveland Orchestra as a consultant, culminating in the presentation of a report, The Cleveland Orchestra in Contemporary Education”, which reinvigorated that organization’s Educational Concerts and expanded its outreach programs. As a result of that study, Ms. Krol was engaged as the Orchestra’s Director of Youth Activities, a post she held concurrently with her position at Tanglewood.
