Job, tonso capite,
Corruens in terram,
Adoravit et dixit:
Nudus egressus sum utero matris meae
Et nudus revertar illuc.
Dominus dedit, Dominus abstulit;
Sicut Domino placuit, ita factum est:
Sit nomen Domini benedictum
Ex hoc nunc et usque in saeculum.

Job, head shaven,
Falling down on the ground,
Worshipped and said:
Naked I came out of my mother’s womb
And naked shall I return there;
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away:
As it pleases the Lord, so let it be done.
May the name of the Lord be blessed
From now on and for evermore.
