Eins bitte ich vom Herren,
das hätte ich gern:
dass ich im Hause des Herrn möge bleiben mein Lebelang
zu schauen die schönen Gottesdienst des Herren
und seinen Tempel zu besuchen.

I ask one thing from the Lord
that I would dearly have:
that in the house of the Lord
I might remain my whole life long,
to behold the beautiful holy rites of the Lord
and to visit his temple.
