Der Engel sprach zu den Hirten;
Ich verkündige euch große Freude,
denn euch ist heute der Heiland geborn,
welcher ist Christus der Herr
in der Stadt David.
Und er heißt: Wunderbar, Rat, Kraft, Held,
ewig Vater, Friedefürst.
Alleluia!

The angel said to the shepherds:
I announce great joy to you,
for today a Savior is born to you
who is Christ, the Lord,
in the City of David.
And he is called: Miracle, Counsel, Power, Hero,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
