Heinrich Schütz

Ad dominum cum tribularer clamavi,
et exaudivit me.
Domine, libera animam meam
a labiis iniquis et a lingua dolosa.

To the Lord, in tribulation, I cried out,
and he heard me.
Lord, free my soul
from evil lips and from a deceitful tongue.

Quid detur tibiaut quid apponatur tibi,
ad linguam dolosam?
Sagittae potentis,
potentis acutae cum carbonibus desolatoriis.

What will be given to you,
and what shall be placed upon you,
on the deceitful tongue?
Powerful arrows,
sharp and strong, with burning coals.

Psalm 120: 1-4
