Heinrich Schütz

Domine, non est exaltatum cor meum
Neque elati sunt oculi mei.
Neque ambulavi in magnis
Neque in mirabilibus super me.

O Lord, my heart is not exalted,
nor are my eyes raised too high.
I do not occupy myself with great matters,
or with things that are too marvelous for me.

Si non humiliter sentiebam
Sed exaltavi animam meam
Sicut ablactatus est super matrem sua
mIta retributio in anima mea.

But I still my soul
and make it quiet
like a child upon its mother's breast;
my soul is quieted within me.

Speret Israel in Domino
Ex hoc nunc et usque in saeculum.

O Israel, wait upon the Lord
from this time forth forevermore.

Psalm 131
