Emmanuel Music is honored to have earned an invitation to perform at Bachfest Leipzig in June 2024, as one of only five American ensembles attending. Organized by the Bach Archive on behalf of the city of Leipzig, Bachfest is the largest international celebration of the music of J.S. Bach, hosted in the city where he served as Thomaskantor for 27 prolific years.

In addition to the above four Bach cantatas, we have received special permission from Bachfest Artistic Director, Michael Maul, to perform commissioned motets by living composers John Harbison and Errollyn Wallen. We are one of the few ensembles invited to premiere new works on this international stage.
