With a repertoire spanning classical and musical theater, pianist Scott Nicholas has appeared throughout the U.S. and internationally in solo and chamber performances. He has served as pianist for the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, The Three Irish Tenors, acclaimed Greek tenor Mario Frangoulis, the Borromeo String Quartet, the Minnesota Opera, Boston Lyric Opera’s outreach programs, the Concord Women's Chorus, the Cambridge Chorus, the Boston Music Theatre Project and the Leontyne Price Vocal Arts Competition, among numerous others.
Scott has recorded several works by Boston composer Graham Gordon Ramsay, most recently “Six Piano Preludes,” part of a collection of solo instrumental works from Albany Records. He has also recorded frequently with E.C. Schirmer's Philovox Ensemble and has been heard on WGBH-FM and WBUR-FM in Boston. Scott was co-composer for the new musical One State, Two State workshopped at Suffolk University this year. He has served as music director for several organizations including Central Square Theater, Franklin School for the Performing Arts, Franklin Performing Arts Company, Suffolk University, the New England Conservatory’s Opera Workshop and St. Michael’s Playhouse, VT.
Mr. Nicholas is currently on the faculty of Emerson College and is a senior lecturer at Suffolk University where he teaches piano and coaches music theater.
