New York native Chris Mavrogian is a rising oboist within the Boston music scene. Having toured New York State with the Orchestra ofNorthern New York, he has also received full scholarship to study at festivals such as Domaine Forget with world renowned oboists Nathan Hughes, Katherine Needleman, Vincent Boilard, and Hélène Devilleneuve. At the moment, Chris is preparing for post-graduate programs within the Boston area, and a competitive applicant for a Fulbright award.
From 2022-2024, Chris was the recipient of the Rosen CranePerformance Travel scholarship. As a recipient, Chris toured New York City schools performing chamber and solo music for students, holding educational workshops for high schoolers interested in pursuing music.
Currently, Chris is a co-founder and performer of the PRISMA Project, a nonprofit organization that arranges piano scores into orchestral works. As an increasingly sought-after musician, Chris is a sub for community pit orchestras and various institutional ensembles across Boston. He is studying under the guidance of Amanda Hardy from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee for a master’s in oboe performance.
