Jake Street is an organist, harpsichordist, choir director, runner, advocate, and bubble tea enthusiast. He is a prizewinner in multiple international organ competitions, and holds degrees in music and keyboard performance from Holy Cross College, Oberlin Conservatory, and Yale University.
He has studied with John Skelton, Arvid Gast, Thomas Murray, Webb Wiggins, Michael Fuerst, and Arthur Haas. Under the mentorship of Richard Webster and Colin Lynch, he served as Organ Scholar at Trinity Church, Copley Square from 2012-13. Jake spent the following year as a Fulbright Scholar, studying historical instruments and fine-tuning his German accent in Lübeck, Germany. He leads a semi-professional choir of adults and choristers as Director of Music at St. Paul’s on the Green in Norwalk, Connecticut, and is the accompanist for the Fairfield County Chorale.
When not making music, Jake advocates for mental health awareness and for survivors of sexual abuse. In the past two years, his words on those subjects have been published in opinion articles, delivered in a speech to a national conference of organists, and quoted in local and national newspapers over a dozen times. He spent two years volunteering at Samaritans, a suicide prevention hotline based in New York City, from 2016-2018. Jake is a three-time marathon runner who is now happily working his way back up to a 10k. He enjoys reading about psychology in his free time.
