Cellist Agnes Kim, described as a "hair-raising performer" in The Boston Musical Intelligencer after her performance with award-winning Arneis Quartet, has actively performed as a recitalist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. She currently serves as a principal cellist in Haffner Sinfonietta and Hwaum Chamber Orchestra of Boston, and plays for Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. She was a founding member of Trio Eca and Haffner Chamber Players. Her performance as member of Korea-based Trio Sol was broadcasted national widely on MBC in Korea. Ms. Kim was winner of the Artist International Audition and a recipient of John Lad Prize, Aldo Pariot Scholarship, Eric Von Baeyer Scholarship, and prizes from International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition and Ibla Grand Prize.

She has collaborated in concerts with Marc Johnson, Peter Zazofsky, Michelle LaCourse, Ursula Holliger, and St. Lawrence String Quartet. Ms. Kim received Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University where she was a student of Leslie Parnas. Born in Pennsylvania, USA, and raised in Busan, Korea, she was trained at Busan High School of Arts and holds degrees from Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and New England Conservatory where she studied with Steven Kates and Yeesun Kim. She participated in Aspen Music Festival, Chamber Residency and Master Classes at Banff Center, Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music, Emerging Quartet and Composers Program at Deer Valley Festival, St. Lawr
