J.S. Bach:  Mass in B minor,  BWV 232

Saturday, May 3, 2025, 7:30pm

Ryan Turner, conductor

Emmanuel Church Sanctuary

Arguably J.S. Bach’s most towering achievement, Emmanuel Music rounds out the 2024-25 performance season by putting our trademark stamp on the great Mass in B Minor, a work of vocal and orchestral mastery. Completed only one year before his death, Bach himself never heard the work, but used this setting of the Mass Ordinary to showcase the prowess, ingenuity, and flexibility he had spent his lifetime honing. Join us and immerse yourself in Bach’s magnificent sonic landscape, featuring twelve vocal soloists and an orchestra including three oboes, two bassoons, two flutes, trumpets, horn, timpani, and strings.
